leaving town...

This sweet family has moved out of state. Their mom wanted to get some pictures of the kids before they packed up and headed east. This woman was amazing. Not only did this women have well behaved children, she was also in the middle of packing up their home, painting it, trying to sell it and getting ready to drive 2 states away in less than 3 weeks. If I could bottle her up and sell her I would be rich!

Tara, the oldest, was a professional. She came with moves and was not afraid to use them. The moment I stepped out of my car she was ready to work. She was adorable and was using model poses before I had a chance to say cheese. I loved her energy and life! Mac was all boy - the tractors were a HUGE hit with him. His eyes were this amazing crystal blue; perfection. And baby Kate; she was made for pictures. Super chunky, super cute, looks like a doll.

two of a kind...

I started the session by looking down and noticing that daddy and baby have matching shoes - hello - how cute it that!!!

Another fun afternoon spent talking and walking with this family. Kate was great; I think she loves the camera. Next time we meet I should bring my running shoes, I am sure she will be up and running and will not stand still for me.

a fun family...

A few weeks ago I headed out to Sandy Point to do a maternity session. This wonderful mom is expecting baby number 4! This was my first maternity shoot and I was very excited to document this moment for them.

The family was a pure delight to work with. You can tell these people love each other and love to spend time playing in the bay and having a good time. The son was not happy when I took a few pictures of mama's belly - it was cute the way he scrunched up his face and told me "I am not touching that!"

As I was leaving, I was invited to come back with my family to play anytime. What a great group of people, extending an offer like that left me on a high for quite some time. I hope to make it back out there with my boys someday soon, be on the look out Kacee.

makes me ache...

I loved being pregnant. I will never be again so I have to rely on my memory to remind myself what the feeling was like.

Last week Emily contacted me, she had 9 days till her due date and wanted to see if we could get a session in before her bundle of joy came (I am checking the hospital's web site each day to see if the baby has come - nothing so far). This was my second maternity session and I was super excited to do it.

The moment I see her, all smiles and glowing, I put my hands on her belly - I don't even think I asked her (sorry). She didn't even blink an eye. I was bursting at the seams; I so miss the feeling of a round belly, being able to feel the baby move and turn; if only we could bottle that feeling.

Mom-to-be was fantastic; thanks for walking with me and letting me do what I needed. Hope you enjoy!!!

made for pictures...

This was my second session with this family. I did one last year when I was thinking of starting my business, they were willing to give up some weekend time to let me play with them. Last years pictures were beautiful; their two girls were made to be models.

This years session blew me away. Everything was perfect: location, weather, the family. They were up for anything and didn't even bat an eye when I made them be goofy as people walked passed they. I love their attitude!!!! We talked about Twilight - have you seen it yet Chris? Got fresh with a statue and tried to break into an old phone booth.

These girls melt my heart. I have some fun ideas that I want to use them for; hope your up to it Mary - your Christmas photos will be great.

an all american family...

have you ever seen a family that looked as if they just walked out of a movie on the big screen? i met a family like this. they live on a perfect street, one you would see from the 1950's. perfect tree lined neighborhood, side walks, children playing all around. neat little home filled will love.

the moment i drove down their street i was bursting with excitement - i couldn't wait to see what i would capture. we headed to a quaint retreat in sumas. it was breath taking. the perfect backdrop for the perfect family.

while we were there, we ran into a family of swans. you could get very close to them, you could even touch them if you didn't mind losing a finger (the daddy swan was mean). i think i could have stayed there for hours, just taking in the beauty of this place. it was truly amazing - and so was the family. the two little girls were adorable and full of energy. it was a workout just keeping up with them, but i love that energy. makes for some wonderful images.

i am so in love with this one, very different.

this bed was in the middle of the woods - i love finding stuff like this.

loving the loganberry...

One of my dear friends wanted me to capture her sweet family. I felt so honored to have been asked!

When ever I am with Ms. Amy and Logan, I am filled with joy. Amy is an amazing mother and friend; I am blessed to have her in my life. I had many ideas for this shoot and was very excited to try them out. This was the first time I was going to have a session at multiple places.

The first stop was their back yard. Norman the dog is a HUGE part of the family. Amy wanted to make sure Norman was included - he did great! We than hopped into the car and headed for the park. It was so much fun to run around the playground looking for dinos!. Our last stop was a special one - Starbucks!!! Amy and Logan walk to Starbucks often. This is a place that they come together, hang out and enjoy each other. I wanted to make sure I documented this part of their relationship. It's a huge part of them, part of what makes their family tick.

Thanks Amy and Logan - it was by far the best way to spend a Monday. I had so much fun, looking forward to the next one (loving the bed idea!!!)

His eyes are amazing - he got'em from his mama.

This one puts a smile on my face - such a boy.
